SHORT-LIST INTERVIEW, COMIN' UP!
I'm all but running around my living room in excitement! In fact, the interview will kinda-sorta take place in my living room: since I'm way the hell out in Research Country, it's a lot more cost-effective to do this through Skype. Does this mean I still need to wear a suit and tie?

Yaaaaayyy! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteHell yes! That's awesome news! If I weren't sick, I'd be running around my living room, too.
ReplyDeleteOh, and yes, you definitely need to suit up, Skype interview included.
Good for you! And yes, suit up.
ReplyDeleteWhat is this "all but" business! GET OUT AND RUN! That's amazing! Whoo!
ReplyDeleteW00t!! Just make sure to tidy up before you turn on the web cam.
ReplyDeleteYay! And I'm so interested to hear how the vibe is on the Skype interview....
ReplyDeleteYay! But you know, since it's a skype interview, you can be all business up top and sweat pants on the bottom, so long as you don't decide to get up and walk around the room :)
ReplyDelete(Anybody else think it's time for them to invent the masks like they used to wear on the Jetsons when they would answer the video phone if they were just waking up or something? Am I the only one who remembers that?)
Hey, fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWhoo-hoo! Yes, no going commando underneath the interview desk! (was it Anchorman that did that? I forget.)
ReplyDeleteAlso think about the background and rest of room behind you --- you want to be well lit and not with anything too distracting or messy behind you.
Knock em dead!
@Dr. Crazy: I do remember those video phone masks! I used to wonder when I was a kid why adults would feel the need for such a thing. No longer.
ReplyDeleteI think the consensus is suit and tie, all the way (down). Murphy's Law dictates that, if I try to get away with pajamas or sweats below the suit jacket, circumstances will force me to get up to attend to something or other and embarrass myself in front of everyone.
@everyone else: thanks! :D
Congratulations!! Woohooo Yes, suit and tie is the way to go. Also do make sure that you think about what's behind you when you so that it's not too distracting or messy.
